The Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly has commenced its sessions, with Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav presenting thestate budget for the financial year 2024-2025state budget for the financial year 2024-2025. The budget, amounting to ₹2,94,427.25 crores, outlines the government's spending priorities, including significant allocations to key sectors.

The budget specifies a revenue expenditure of ₹2,35,916.99 crores and a capital expenditure of ₹32,712.84 crores. It also forecasts a revenue deficit of ₹34,743.38 crores and a fiscal deficit of ₹68,742.65 crores.

Minister Keshav, in his speech, reaffirmed the government's commitment to fulfilling the promises made under the leadership of Chief Minister Chandrababu, despite the challenges faced. Notably, the budget includes provisions for the 'Thalliki Vandanam' scheme, aimed at supporting mothers of students in government and private schools. Additionally, the government plans to introduce free bus travel for women soon.
